Wacker Neuson demolition hammer on fossil mission

Since 1990 free digging for dinosaur remains has been prohibited. Appropriate geoscientific qualifications are needed to go in search of the reptiles, which have been extinct for 66 million years. One who has them? Our BH65 gasoline demolition hammer! At least under the operation of real paleontologists.
For many years, its predecessor, the BH24, was used in excavations on the Hohenloher Ebene, Baden-Württemberg, under the direction of the Stuttgart Natural History Museum. The quarry there is the fossil site with the highest diversity worldwide, including the oldest turtle fossil and various million-year-old dinosaur teeth and skulls. Always with us: our demolition hammer. The two BH65s are new to the team and replace the predecessor BH24. The hammers are used in the quarry to remove a 30-40 cm thick layer of dolomite stone. Thanks to their high individual impact energy and low hand-arm vibration, they are the ideal machines for this purpose. A truly special application story!
